the dyrt camping app

however you camp — in a tent, trailer, RV, or cabin — the dyrt makes finding a spot to camp as easy as picking a hotel or restaurant.

my role.

  • I joined The Dyrt as a senior product designer. In this role I designed and conducted user research studies, collaborated on product roadmap and feature planning, lead cross functional workshops, sketched wireframes, built prototypes, create high fidelity design specs for dev handoff, and did QA on staging and live product.

  • Recognizing the need for brand definition as the missing foundation needed to build a scalable design system, I held a google design sprint to get leadership aligned on a new brand direction. We called the outcome “Dyrt Friendly.” This became the first step in our full rebrand.
With my first large feature assignment, I introduced design thinking and user research practices as standard project process at the company. Due to the success of these processes, I was empowered to hire and lead a team of product designers, brand designers, user researchers and copywriters.

  • Along with leading The Dyrt Design Department, I enjoy looking at our company as a UX project. With the goal of employee retention, I’ve designed culture and process building programs covering topics such as new hire onboarding, incentivized staff camping reports, company swag, culture & engagement activities, home office perks, and more.
